2018 New Year’s Eve Family Friendly Celebration


Celebrate the end of 2018 with a family friendly day of fun in downtown Bemidji. Activities will be offered at different venues in downtown Bemidji on Monday, December 31st, 2018. See the list below for information about each activity and host location. This is the sixth year of coordinated New Year’s Eve activities in downtown Bemidji for families. The events are sponsored and hosted by: Bemidji Public Library, Bemidji Parks and Recreation, Beltrami County Historical Society, Headwaters Science Center, Harmony Foods Co-Op, Headwaters Music & Arts, and Calvary Chapel.

  • 9:30-10:30a Headwaters Music and Arts – Drumming for All Ages. Free

  • 10:30-11:15a Bemidji Public Library –“Frosty’s Magic Birthday Party” with Robert the Magician. Free

  • 10:30-12:00p Harmony Foods Co-op –“Good Food for the New Year Snack Time”. Take a break from the New Year's Eve fun & stop in at Harmony Co-op for a healthy snack

  • 11a-2p Headwaters Science Center – “NoiseMAKERs” event featuring hands on “maker” activities and refreshments. Ball drop at noon. Activities included with membership or admission to HSC ($9 adults, $8 Seniors and Military, $6 children (2-11), under 2 are Free)

  • 2-3:30p Bemidji Parks and Recreation. Sledding + hot chocolate at Paul Bunyan Park. This activity is dependent on sledding conditions and weather. Free

  • 4-6p Beltrami County Historical Society – History Mystery– a live action game of Clue for the entire family. Doors open at 4, Game at 4:30. $15/person, $10/BCHS members, Kids 12 & Under free with paid adult. BCHS Members, bring a friend for the member price. Space is limited so please sign up early by contacting the BCHS.

  • 6-7pm Calvary Chapel – The community is welcome and invited to a nondenominational Christian Worship Service.
